"Murdering Outside The Box" is the twelfth episode of Metalocalypse. It aired on October 22, 2006 on Adult Swim.
Against the wishes of the Tribunal, Crozier send in an assassin to eliminate the threat of Dethklok. The spy easily blends in during the annual employee performance review, but his attempts to kill the band all fail.
The episode starts with Dethklok returning to Mordhaus after a shopping trip, with Toki complaining that he does not know what do with his purchases and Skwisgaar suggesting they throw everything away because they're going to die anyway. Nathan bought some expensive watches despite hating wearing one, he likes to smash them and Pickles asks if he can join in. Murderface bought a diamond-encrusted and titanium-based codpiece, which eveyone compliments. Toki says he bought a codpiece as well, but in reality he's wearing a bright green vibrating strap-on dildo. Pickles says he was trying to buy the cinnamon bun franchise but he was too drunk to do it. Charles appears and says he's been looking for them all day so they can take part in the Employee Evaluation Conference Conference and Raffle and hopefully find out which employee has been embezzling from them. Dethklok initially finds the idea of embezzling cool until they find out the money is being taken from them.
Senator Stamptington begins a Tribunal meeting by saying that Dethklok has just officially become the world's 12th largest economy, surpassing Belgium and then announces that all of Dethklok's will converge in Mordhause for the Employee Evaluation Conference Conference and Raffle. General Crozier decides to advantage of the conference and send an assassin to infiltrate the ranks of Dethklok's hooded roadies. Crozier implies that he will have 216 attempt to assassinate Dethklok against the wishes of the Tribunal.
The scene cuts to Dethklok interviewing Gear 421, with Pickles asking "How do you value your what you contribute of to and the work force? Uh, second part: At which do you most can't the least?" and then asking Skwisgaar if he wrote these questions, which the guitarist confirms. Nathan asks him if he's the embezzler, when 421 says he's not, Nathan believes him. Dethklok wants to conclude the interview, but Murderface continues it by asking personal questions about his family and congratulating him on his near-birthday. Dethklok comment that they are really good bosses and Skwisgaar makes a rather unfortunate comparison to a plantation, saying that instead of slaves they have friends.
The assassin gets closerEdit
Agent 216 sneaks into Mordhaus, witnessing Gears burning the yard grass, making dragon shrubbery sculptures, having the branding ceremony and working in a workshop. Crozier contacts him to order him to kill Dethklok. When asked for his security clearance, Agent 216 murders an employee with a hammer and sneaks into a room, which turns out to be the interviewing room. Dethklok greets him like a regular employee, with Skwisgaar saying "we cares about each and every ones of you, little tinies goofballs", prompting an argument with Toki about who is conducting the interview. Toki asks "am you what are we is a dethklok employee?" but 216 does not answer, instead he takes out a gun under the table, preparing to shoot them. Before he can do anything, the P.A. prompts everyone to go to Performance Atrium for the Dethklok Employee Motivational Seminar and Raffle, which causes Murderface to break the table in half and fall on the assassin disarming the gun he had. Before leaving, Murderface tells 216 to have a great day. 216 then tries to kill them in a hallway but slips on the blood from a Klokateer he killed earlier and misses the band and killing another Klokateer, to which Swisgaar says "look another Klokateer is sleepings in blood, too."Dethklok begins talking about the raffle and how they want to win it and Nathan screams that he loves being motivated. The Motivational Seminar has a motivational speaker getting all the employees excited about dying for Dethklok before triping on the microphone cable and accidentally stranggling himself. The mood dies down but is immediately brought back by the appearance of Facebones. It introduces a video on how to be considerate to fellow employees; the video features Dethklok acting in various scenarios and reminding the Klokateers that death is an every day occurrence. The employees are then rewarded with an exclusive first look at Briefcase Full of guts right before the raffle. Charles then announces the winner of the raffle: Number 216.
A foiled attemptEditThe assassin tries to go upon the stage but is stopped by the midget Klokateer who thinks he is trying to claim his prize, they fight and the assassin fights his way onto a stage during the lottery, but gets tripped by the midget Klokateer and falls onto Murderface's rhino horn shaped, diamond encrusted and titanium based codpiece just before he manages to shoot Dethklok. Charles beings announcing the prize as they fight, but trails off saying "diamond encrusted codpiece" when he sees the manner of Agent 216's death. It's unclear whether the codpiece was the original prize or whether the words just escaped Charles as he witnessed the scene, but in the end Gear 216 gets the codpiece.
The embezzler turns out to be the band itself, but they blame it on the assassin, who gets a Viking funeral, still thinking the Agent was a Dethklok employee. During the final credits, it's revealed Crozier is also watching the funeral from the Agent's wrist communication device, though it's unclear whether the tribunal is aware of Crozier's betrayal. Murderface then calls dibs on the pension.
